Bold new festival for Canberra

BOLD Festival celebrates the legacy and impact of professional and community dance, as a  platform for the work of older and still-practicing artists as a way to explore healthy ageing, the health impacts of creativity and the cross-generational exchange of ideas and practice.

Across four days, BOLD brings together dance artists from a wide range of areas, cultures and countries. Through talks, performances, films and revivals of historic works, they explore their legacies, experiences and careers evolving with age. Interdisciplinarity is explored through connections between movement, science, multiculturalism, history and art, with an emphasis on Australian indigenous dance heritage.

The event coincides with the Enlighten Festival and is hosted by four national institutions; National Film and Sound Archive, National Library of Australia, National Portrait Gallery and National Gallery of Australia.

BOLD runs from Wednesday 8 March until Sunday 12 March.
