Event Assistance Program

APPLICATIONS HAVE BEEN ASSESSED AND FUNDING HAS BEEN ALLOCATED TO SUCCESSFUL EVENTS.

INFORMATION REGARDING THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE 2012/13 EAP FUNDING ROUND WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2012.

Australian Capital Tourism's Events Assistance Program (EAP) is a grant funding program designed to help stimulate and encourage events that demonstrate a strong capacity to provide economic benefits to the ACT through tourist visitation. It assists eligible event organisers to target interstate and international visitors as a key audience – providing the platform to develop, market and promote events in a way that helps to maximise tourism outcomes.

By providing assistance to develop, market and promote tourism events, EAP support must be aimed at:

  • increasing the number of interstate or international visitors travelling to the ACT;
  • increasing visitor length of stay in the ACT;
  • enhancing the overall tourism experience of visitors;
  • contributing to the brand enhancement of the ACT as a tourism destination; and
  • engaging and benefiting other sectors of the Canberra region tourism industry.

NOTE: A visitor is defined as a person who takes an overnight trip involving a stay of one or more nights away from home at a place at least 40km away from home.

EAP APPLICATION GUIDELINES

The EAP Application Guidelines provide an important overview of the funding program. A copy of the guidelines from the 2011/12 EAP funding round (which is now closed to applications) is available for download below for information only. A new set of EAP Application Guidelines will be prepared for the upcoming 2012/13 funding round.
