The ACT Government has launched T2030: ACT Tourism Strategy 2023-2030, setting a foundation to realise Canberra’s potential as a global destination.
T2030 builds on the ACT’s economic development priorities outlined in CBR Switched On and sets out objectives to sustainably grow the value of the visitor economy to $4 billion by 2030. The strategy also focuses on increasing jobs in the tourism industry from 18,500 to 22,750 by the end of 2030 and identifying ways to connect Canberra to more places domestically and internationally by air.
Each year the ACT Government will release a detailed action plan that outlines the specific activities that will be implemented to realise the ambition in each of the missions.
Our tourism sector contributes not only to our city’s economic growth, but to the wellbeing of our community. The ACT Government will continue to work with our local tourism industry to create the right settings to enable sustainable growth and address challenges facing the tourism sector.
