  • Australian Tourism Exchange India famil wrap-up
POSTED June 26, 2026
CATEGORIES General, International,

Ahead of the Australian Tourism Exchange, VisitCanberra hosted Indian buyers on a five-day familiarisation (famil) program in Canberra. Highlights included hands-on glassmaking at Canberra Glassworks, snow play at Corin Forest, a behind-the-scenes experience with an athlete at the Australian Institute of Sport, and visits to iconic national attractions including Australian Parliament House, the Australian War Memorial and the Royal Australian Mint.

The famil reinforced Canberra’s appeal as a multi-night destination, with one agent noting: “The insights have made me believe that Canberra is surely not a day trip tour but minimum 2–3 nights stay in Canberra is a must.”

India is a key market for Canberra’s international strategy, with famil programs playing a key role in building trade knowledge and confidence by giving agents first-hand experience of the destination.
