The National Arboretum Canberra’s newest feature, the Gallery of Gardens, opens to the public this weekend.
Pack a picnic rug and the family and visit the National Arboretum Canberra on Sunday 2 April from 12pm – 3pm to celebrate the opening of four spectacular new gardens. The gardens are the first in a series of seven unique gardens that make up the Gallery of Gardens, located on the recently opened Events Terrace.
The four new gardens include The Open Gardens Australia Celebration Garden, The Labyrinth Garden, The AIDS Garden of Reflection and Mununja the Butterfly Garden, which have been funded through the generous contribution of sponsors and donors. Each garden has a unique design with a variety of trees, plants and landscape features.
The Sprout Cafe and a gourmet BBQ will be open, or pack your own picnic, enjoy kite-flying (buy and decorate a kit for $10 or BYO), face-painting, guided walks of the new gardens and live music. There’s also a rare chance to buy fresh and preserved Arboretum produce at the Harvest Stall.
