Canberra is fast becoming the ‘go to’ destination for cutting edge conferences and events. The National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC) has released a new video which reflects not only the successes of the Centre, but also showcases the destination – highlighting the cultural icons, local hotspots and the endless opportunities available to delegates when they visit the nation’s capital.
In addition to the video, the NCCC is currently in the midst of a $5.4 million refurbishment.
Stage 1 of the refurbishment is complete with installation of new carpet, foyer furniture and upgrade of reception area, conference office, washrooms and cloaking facilities. The NCCC’s new branding incorporates Canberra’s warm autumn colours which present delegates and guests with a very warm and invitational feel.
Stage 2 sees substantial investment in new seating in the Royal Theatre and accompanying theatrettes. This will catapult NCCC’s conference and guest offering, comfortably accommodating over 1500 delegates.
“This is a targeted effort to increase business events to Canberra. Timing is perfect with international flights now linking Canberra to Singapore and New Zealand,” said General Manager, Stephen Wood.
