The National Museum of Australia’s latest exhibition showcases cycling in Australia. On the last stage of its national tour, Freewheeling explores 140 years of Australia’s cycling history, and how bicycles brought millions of people excitement, freedom and even glory.
Learn more about our cycling stories and objects, and the bike’s past, present and future. The exhibition features a selection of bikes on show, including Henry Clarke’s penny-farthing, cycling gear, and trophies and medallions which tell the stories of amateur and professional riders.
The exhibition is a must-see for cycling enthusiasts for all ages. Freewheeling spins into Canberra on Thursday 13 April and runs until Sunday 9 July.
Entry is free. For more information visit www.nma.gov.au/freewheeling
