Destination Southern NSW Ltd (DSNSW) has recently been formed as one of six new Destination Networks in NSW following a review of Regional Tourism operations in the State.
The Destination Networks are tasked with accelerating overnight visitor expenditure within their geographic areas to meet the 2020 tourism targets. The Destination Networks replace the current Regional Tourism Organisation structure.
DSNSW’s geographic coverage includes the eight local Government areas of Bega Valley, Eurobodalla, Goulburn Mulwaree, Hilltops, Queanbeyan‐Palerang, Snowy Monaro, Upper Lachlan, and Yass Valley. Merimbula will be home to DNSW’s headquarters, with a satellite hub office in Queanbeyan.
DSNSW has appointed Shane O’Leary as General Manager. Shane was previously Economic Development Manager at Bega Valley Shire Council and prior to that held senior leadership positions including Executive Director Tourism, Events & Sport‐ACT Government and Chief Executive Officer‐Sydney World Masters Game Organising Committee.
