Local businesses are encouraged to become Bike Stops, as part of a new ACT Government initiative to promote more Canberrans and visitors to cycle around the city.
Bike Stops are local businesses who provide a range of facilities for bike riders. The types of facilities provided by each business will vary, but might include access to toilets, showers and change rooms, bag storage, water refill and tyre pumps, among other services.
The Active Travel Office is looking for businesses who want to support the growing bike riding community, attract new customers, and be seen as one of the ACT’s leading champions, helping to create a safer, more vibrant and more liveable city.
The ACT Government will promote your business through:
- Online mapping with CycleLifeHQ – CycleLifeHQ is a Canberra-based international business, who can drive a significant amount of traffic to your site through their customer engagement;
- A shopfront window sticker;
- Active travel ACT Government website; and
- Community promotion and marketing.
Becoming an accredited Bike Stop provides you with opportunity to increase patronage by bike riders, and also provides you with support and acknowledgement from the broader community.
Registrations of interest are open until Tuesday 29 August 2017. Further information is available at transport.act.gov.au
