  • GoBoat launches first boats outside Europe – here in Canberra
POSTED November 8, 2017
CATEGORIES General,

For the first time ever, Canberran locals and visitors alike can rent and drive a Scandinavian designed picnic boat on Lake Burley Griffin – without a boat licence.

GoBoat, which operates in Denmark, Sweden and London have recently launched in Canberra, offering a new way to see the city, and a fun way to enjoy food and good company around the central picnic table on each boat.

Nick Tyrrell, owner of GoBoat Canberra says “Canberra is a beautiful city, with a stunning lake right in the centre. Our vision was to open up the lake for everyone to enjoy with their friends and family”.

The boats are designed by Danish firm Rand, and at the centre of each GoBoat is a communal picnic table with cup holders, and plenty of storage for handbags and safety gear for the eight people who can fit on board.

GoBoat Canberra is open from 10am until sunset daily, with longer hours planned during school holidays.

Bookings can be made online at www.goboatcanberra.com.au/book or at the GoBoat kiosk at Kingston Harbour.
