More than 360 Canberra and Region tourism industry members gathered on Friday 17 November at the National Museum of Australia to celebrate and acknowledge the winners and entrants in the 2017 Canberra and Region Tourism Awards.
Amongst the winners were the Canberra and Region Visitors Centre which won the award for Visitor Information Services; the National Gallery of Australia which won the Major Tourist Attraction category; and Questacon – the National Science and Technology Centre which won the Tourist Attraction category.
Ivan Domazet of the Doma Group and Richard Tindale of the National Zoo & Aquarium were also recognized for their outstanding contribution to the industry.
“Each year, the Canberra Region’s tourist attractions and tourism businesses excel in delivering superior and memorable visitor experiences and services to local, regional, interstate and international visitors. The Canberra Region Tourism Awards showcase this excellence in tourism,” said Dr. Naomi Dale, President of the National Capital Attractions Association.
The winners will represent the Canberra Region at the Qantas Australia Tourist Awards in Perth in February 2018.
