POSTED December 11, 2017
CATEGORIES Industry,

There have recently been several changes in the VisitCanberra senior management team.

After 13 years dedicated to growing Canberra’s visitor economy, Ian Hill has decided it is time to find new opportunities and has resigned from his role as Executive Director Visit Canberra and Cultural Canberra. Ian has overseen many major projects in his tenure including a clear strategic plan for the visitor economy; attracting the first ever international flights to Canberra; growing new low cost carrier services; building Australia’s most innovative Visitor Information Centre; attracting and delivering world class international events; the creation of Enlighten and NightFest; attracting blockbuster exhibitions; and creating the award winning Human Brochure.

Jonathan Kobus will be leading the VisitCanberra team as Acting Director until 10 May 2018. Jonathan has previously been Deputy Director of VisitCanberra and will be well known to many in the regional tourism industry.

Jo Verden will be Acting Director Events ACT until 10 May 2018. Jo’s role as Deputy Director VisitCanberra will not be filled whilst she works with the Events team.
