Canberra has transformed into a hive of activity, with the launch of the Enlighten Festival on Friday. The festival runs until Sunday 18 March and is bigger and brighter than ever before, with an extended program of free and ticketed events and activities, plus two new and exciting event precincts – Canberra city and the Australian National University.

Program highlights include:

Illuminations in the Parliamentary Triangle
Location: various attractions including Parliament House, National Portrait Gallery, National Library of Australia, Museum of Australian Democracy, National Gallery of Australia and Questacon
Date: until Sunday 11 March
Time: 8pm

Enlighten Night Noodle Markets
Location: Reconciliation Place
Date: until Sunday 11 March
Time: from 5pm Monday – Friday, from 4pm Saturday – Sunday

Lights! Canberra! Action!
Location: Senate Rose Gardens, Museum of Australian Democracy
Date: Friday 9 March
Time: 7pm

Canberra Balloon Spectacular
Location: Lawns of Old Parliament House
Date: Saturday 10 – Sunday 18 March
Time: from 6.15am

Symphony in the Park
Location: Stage 88, Commonwealth Park
Date: Saturday 11 March
Time: 7pm

Canberra Day
Location: Commonwealth Park
