Australian Tourism Database Warehouse (ATDW) which feeds all of the attractions, tours and events listings to the VisitCanberra website, has addressed the importance of listing accessibility features of a business.
ATDW has collaborated with Local Government NSW (LGNSW) to enable Australian tourist destinations, products and services to accurately highlight their accessible facilities to the Inclusive Tourism market.
It will now become a mandatory component for all operators registered with the ATDW to respond to the additional accessibility questions in the revised data set.
Becoming a feature of the ATDW database in the 2nd quarter of 2018, the new accessibility data will encourage operators to become more aware of the inclusive tourism market and will provide additional information for online distributors to share across their consumer facing websites.
Visit ATDW for information on their new features.
A key learning from the Destination Canberra Conference 2018, from a marketing perspective, was the need to be customer centric i.e. to prioritise a customer’s specific needs above everything else.
One of the areas to consider is the needs of the Inclusive Tourism market – Click here for more information on the Accessible Tourism Masterclass from the conference.
