This year The Truffle Festival – Canberra Region celebrates it’s 10 year anniversary. Each year from June to August more than 250 individual events are held across the Canberra region showcasing the region’s Black Winter Truffle.
The festival celebrates truffles in a range of events including truffle dishes at local restaurants and cafes as well as truffle hunts on one of the many trufferies. Learn about the history of the truffle and watch truffle dogs in action, then learn how to harvest and handle the truffles. Many of these hunts also offer a hunt and cook experience, where you can indulge in a truffle meal at the end of the hunt.
Several locations around the region will give you the opportunity to learn from the chefs and other truffle experts at a cooking class or demonstration. Truffles will be available for purchase at a number of markets as well as direct from the growers.
The Truffle Festival is the ultimate foodie festival, and a fabulous celebration of winter in the Canberra region.
