A six month trial of Airbike’s dockless bike share begins at the end of July.
The ACT Government is working with the National Capital Authority, the Australian National University and the Australian owned Airbike company to implement the trial.
A fleet of 200 dockless bikes will be released across the city over three weeks. They can be used for return or one-way trips without having to be returned to a docking station.
The trial area will include the city centre, the ANU and Parliamentary Zone. This bike share scheme aims to encourage the community and visitors to the city to live a more healthy and active lifestyle, maximise integration with public transport and promote bike riding as a viable mode of transport for short journeys.
