  • Tour operators back from Singapore
POSTED July 10, 2018
CATEGORIES General, Industry,

ACT Parks and Conservation, Go Boats, Shaw Vineyard and tour operators Canberra Guided Tours and Canberra Secrets were first-time attendees at last week’s Canberra region tourism sales mission in Singapore.

From 5 to 6 July a contingent of 19 Canberra region tourism operators made business connections with key travel trade distribution partners including airlines, wholesalers, retail agents, professional conference organisers and education agents.

Sales missions are a key part of the ACT Government’s continuing efforts to promote the Canberra region and encourage further visitation from the Singapore market. It follows Singapore Airlines’ move to increase flights to and from the capital to a daily schedule two months ago.

The visit saw strong representation from the education sector through the National Capital Educational Tourism Project (NCETP) to strengthen relationships within the educational tourism sector in Singapore. The goal is to encourage more school groups to travel to Canberra for school excursions, leveraging the ACT Government’s investment to grow international education tourism.
