  • From Rome to Cook’s Pacific voyages
POSTED September 19, 2018
CATEGORIES Exhibitions,

Three new exhibitions open at Canberra’s attractions this week.

Rome: City and Empire opens on Friday at the National Museum of Australia, displaying 200 objects from the vast empire of ancient Rome. Only showing in Canberra, this exhibition is the Museum’s third collaboration with the British Museum. The ACT Government is a partner in this exhibition and runs until 3 February 2019.

Across the lake at the National Library of Australia you can catch Cook and the Pacific from Saturday. This follows James Cook’s three remarkable Pacific voyages and explores the region through the eyes of the British voyagers and the First Nations people they met.

Also at the Library is Beauty Rich and Rare, an immersive sound and light experience illuminating the natural beauty of Australia through the eyes of Sir Joseph Banks. Both Library exhibitions run until 10 February 2019.
