  • Showcasing Canberra to international buyers from China and Indonesia
POSTED September 19, 2018
CATEGORIES International,

Following the Corroboree Asia 2018 event, VisitCanberra welcomed 13 frontline retail agents and a Tourism Australia representative from China, for a familiarisation (famil) visit.

The five-day itinerary showcased the proximity and diversity of tourism experiences on offer in Canberra and the surrounding region. The group visited some of the national cultural attractions, including the National Museum of Australia, Parliament House and Questacon,  the Canberra district wine region, Tidbinbilla, Jervis Bay and Batemans Bay.

The visit enabled agents to experience a variety of Canberra region tourism products first-hand, enhancing their ability to promote and sell the destination.

Last week, VisitCanberra also hosted a group of 15 VIPs from key wholesalers and retailers in Indonesia. The famil, which was a joint collaboration with Tourism Australia, Destination NSW and VisitCanberra, featured a Sydney-Canberra-Snowy Mountains itinerary.

Thank you to industry for your support of our famil programs. If you are an export-ready product and would like to take part in VisitCanberra’s famil programs, please contact tourism.trade@act.gov.au
