POSTED September 4, 2018

VisitCanberra representatives met with 87 travel companies at the recent India Travel Mission (ITM) hosted by Tourism Australia.

ITM is Tourism Australia’s premier event for promoting the country’s best tourism attractions to the Indian travel industry and has been running for 16 years.

The three-day event in Jaipur brought together representatives from travel companies in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune and Jaipur. As India is the fastest growing market for ACT and Canberra, attendance at ITM is key for continuing the growth momentum from this market and also a key part of the ACT Government’s continuing effort to promote the Canberra region.

Hotels, airlines, state and regional tourism boards and attractions from around Australia participated in more than 6,500 business appointments. Tourism Australia also highlighted the Signature Experiences of Australia program that promotes some of Australia’s outstanding tourism experiences within a variety of niche areas and special interest categories.
