POSTED November 27, 2018
CATEGORIES Events, Workshops,

VisitCanberra recently attended ATEC Meeting Place alongside a number of Canberra and region tourism businesses including Accor, Blue Skies Adventure Tours, Questacon, and the Sydney-Melbourne Touring Route.

Arranged by the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC), Meeting Place is a peak business-to-business event for Australia’s tourism export industry, connecting travel buyers with tourism products and destinations. The event program included one-on-one appointment sessions with Inbound Tour Operators; networking opportunities; and a conference program of industry keynotes and thought-leaders discussing the theme of selling ‘Authentic Australia’.

The event provided a valuable opportunity for VisitCanberra to train Inbound Tour Operators on Canberra’s export-ready products, and share ideas for packaging and selling the destination.

VisitCanberra was also represented in this year’s ATEC ELITE Program by VisitCanberra Marketing Officer, Cassie Dunchue. ELITE is designed to identify future leaders with the skills and knowledge to sustain Australia’s export tourism industry. The 12-week virtual learning program concluded at ATEC Meeting Place with Cassie and fellow emerging leaders presenting their case study projects to the conference delegation.
