Congratulations to the Cockington Green Gardens team who this weekend celebrate 40 years of being an iconic Canberra tourist attraction.
As a celebration of this special milestone, entry to the Gardens this Sunday 3 November will be by gold coin donation, with proceeds being donated to the Children’s Medical Research Institute who research cures for genetic diseases in children.
This privately run family attraction began in 1979 following a trip to the UK when Doug and Brenda Sarah were inspired to create a miniature village. A family affair to this day, Cockington Green Gardens has delighted hundreds of thousands of visitors and won numerous awards including an Australian Tourism Award more than a decade after it first opened.
VisitCanberra wishes Cockington Green Gardens all the best for the next 40 years.
