More than 300 travel representatives from the UK, USA, Europe and New Zealand were trained about all things Canberra at Corroboree West in Perth from 7 to 11 October. The event combines a training workshop and familiarisation visits exclusively for qualified Aussie Specialist agents. These qualified Aussie Specialists actively sell Australia as a preferred long-haul destination to Western travellers, with many of them being frontline retail agents as well as a mix from wholesale and online travel agents.

The Canberra stall was appropriately spring themed with a Floriade image and picnic style set-up, and a fun interactive ‘Can-berra / Can’t-berra’ interactive game. The feedback was extremely positive, with agents saying they will have a much greater understanding of Canberra as a result of the info-sessions, and much greater ability to in turn sell our destination to consumers.

Following the event, thirteen of the attending agents visited Canberra for a famil tour, so they could experience our destination first-hand.
