A group industry information session will be held on 25 November to discuss a new boutique eco-lodge at the National Arboretum Canberra.
A market sounding is now open for interested parties to submit ideas for a medium sized up-scale boutique eco-lodge with a functions/conference centre, wellness retreat and parking.
The Arboretum says the eco-lodge will help attract more visitors to the nation’s capital.
A more diverse range of accommodation options in Canberra will help increase both national and international visitors to the capital, which helps support our tourism and hospitality industry.
The proposed eco-lodge, with National Capital Authority consultation, would be located adjacent to Dairy Farmer’s Hill, would complement the National Arboretum and meet high quality design and sustainability standards.
The site is well positioned and boasts spectacular 360-degree views to the Brindabella mountain ranges and Lake Burley Griffin.
The market sounding process will help the ACT Government better understand the options available in the market and if there is any interest from commercial operators to build and manage a lodge.
Interested parties are encouraged to attend the one-hour group industry briefing.
