POSTED November 13, 2019
CATEGORIES International,

VisitCanberra recently attended Tourism Australia’s flagship trade event in London, United Kingdom from 30 to 31 October 2019. Our VisitCanberra representative Donna Ciaccia had the opportunity to inform stakeholders about Canberra, and increase awareness of the destination.

Australia Marketplace UK & Europe is an opportunity for representatives from the Australian tourism industry to establish business relationships with key qualified travel agencies and tour operators from the UK and Europe. It included two days of pre-scheduled appointments between buyers and sellers as well as other networking opportunities.

The event provided a fantastic opportunity for representatives from the Australian tourism industry to meet with travel agencies and tour operators to further establish business relationships. Donna had 60 one-on-one appointments.

The UK market is the ACT’s second largest, representing 8 per cent of visitation and has experienced a 4.7 per cent increase in the past 12 months, according Tourism Research Australia data for the year ending June 2019.
