Preparations for the annual Enlighten Festival, presented by Singapore Airlines, are well underway. Returning from 28 February to 15 March 2020, the festival brings together some of Canberra’s premier autumn events.
The marketing campaign has launched spanning paid, owned and earned activity across local and interstate markets. The campaign timing aligns with the broader VisitCanberra ‘Holiday Here’ messaging which encourages locals to explore sides of the city they’ve never come across before, tick off a bucket list item, book a staycation or visit a local attraction or event.
Enlighten Festival will commence with the 10th anniversary of Enlighten Illuminations as architectural projections light up Australian Parliament House, the National Library of Australia, the National Portrait Gallery, Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, National Gallery of Australia and Questacon from 28 February to 9 March. Indulge your inner foodie at the Canberra Night Noodle Markets and receive exclusive access to explore the national attractions after dark.
Prepare to have your mornings brightened when the Canberra Balloon Spectacular returns from 7 to 15 March as hot air balloons fill the sky with a flurry of colour, sound and movement. Celebrate local creativity as Lights! Canberra! Action! (6 March) shines a light on local film-makers and Symphony in the Park (8 March) provides the perfect soundtrack to your sunset picnic. Top off the festival by celebrating the city’s birthday at Canberra Day (9 March) and enjoy a flourish of fireworks at Hit 104.7 Skyfire (14 March).
The marketing activity will continue across the next six weeks with advertising, PR and social activity complemented by local partnerships. Ensure you are following @EnlightenAU on social media to stay up to date with all the latest information about Enlighten Festival.
