Enlighten Festival, presented by Singapore Airlines, starts next Friday 28 February and runs until 15 March. The diverse program continues to evolve with more events added every week. Broadening the scope beyond Enlighten Illuminations, the Enlighten Festival brings together unique opportunities to explore Canberra like no other time of year.
The Enlighten Festival provides the perfect opportunity for locals and tourists alike to embrace the #holidayherecbr message and show some love to Canberra’s tourism industry after a difficult start to the year. The return of local favourites Lights! Canberra! Action! and Symphony in the Park are the perfect way to get outdoors and make the most of the autumn weather. Whilst the Canberra Balloon Spectacular offers the opportunity to tick off a significant bucket list item and take the hot air balloon ride that has already been saved for a special occasion. Canberra Day provides the chance to come together as a community and celebrate the 107th birthday of Canberra.
The Canberra tourism community has shown Enlighten Festival strong support, adding a range of exclusive after dark events to strengthen the event program. Explore a new side of Canberra with exclusive dining experiences, late night access to the best exhibitions and enticing workshops on offer courtesy of Australian Parliament House, Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, Questacon, National Film and Sound Archive, National Archives of Australia, National Electoral Education Centre, Canberra Glassworks, National Zoo & Aquarium, National Capital Authority, National Arboretum Canberra, University of Canberra, Australian National Botanic Gardens and National Gallery of Australia.
