For the year ending June 2023, we welcomed 5.48 million visitors to the ACT. The total visitor numbers have surged to 89% of pre-Covid levels, showcasing the resilience and growth of our local industry and economy.
The ACT achieved the highest-ever recorded visitor expenditure, reaching $3.43 billion from July 2022 until June 2023. That’s the highest in 25 years, surpassing pre-Covid levels by 122%.
International visitation now stands at 61% of pre-Covid levels, with India emerging as our largest international market, boasting visitor numbers exceeding pre-Covid levels at an astounding 130%. Our key markets, including the UK, USA, and China, are steadily recovering as well, with visitor numbers at 97%, 69%, and 28% of pre-Covid levels.
Our international recovery is in sync with Australia’s overall recovery, which now stands at 62%.
