Now is the time to nominate them for a 2025 Australian of the Year Award.
The Australian of the Year Awards recognise those who go above and beyond and demonstrate our great Australian spirit. They could be a quiet achiever, community member, leader in their field, an unsung hero, or a household name.
Local people like Jo Farrell, the 2024 ACT Australian of the Year, for championing women in the construction industry. Or, Selina Walker, the 2024 ACT Local Hero, for her work supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and reconciliation across the ACT.
It only takes one nomination for someone to be in the running for an award, and anyone can nominate another Australian in one of the following four categories:
- Australian of the Year
- Senior Australian of the Year
- Young Australian of the Year
- Australia’s Local Hero
