  • Promoting Canberra in the Indian market
POSTED December 11, 2024
CATEGORIES Industry, International,

VisitCanberra’s Executive Branch Manager attended Tourism Australia’s recent delegation to India from 9 – 16 November. The Tourism Australia delegation involved leaders from all State and Territory Tourism Organisations and Convention Bureaus, including CEO of the Canberra Convention Bureau, Michael Matthews. It was a busy schedule including training presentations to Aussie Specialist Program travel agents, and meetings with key distribution partners and airlines across Mumbai and Delhi.

VisitCanberra also recently hosted three inbound tour operators at the Prime Minister’s XI Gala hosted by Cricket ACT and the Australia India Business Council. It was a great way to connect with these important businesses through their love of cricket, giving us the opportunity to showcase some of Canberra’s experiences which resonate for the India market.

India is a key market for VisitCanberra. We will be launching a number of marketing and trade initiatives early in 2025 to encourage travellers to include Canberra in their Australian travel plans.
