  • VisitCanberra at G’Day Australia in Perth
POSTED December 11, 2024
CATEGORIES Industry, International,

In October, VisitCanberra attended Tourism Australia’s G’Day Australia event in Perth, connecting with Aussie Specialist travel agents from key international markets. Over the course of the four-day event, VisitCanberra conducted 112 appointments with 253 agents, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback about the destination.

A standout feature of VisitCanberra’s customised appointment booth was an interactive ‘Yes You Canberra/No You Can’tberra’ game, which sparked curiosity and increased agents’ knowledge of Canberra. The booth also showcased a hand-drawn map of the city, which was well-received by agents and operators. Many agents knew Canberra as the capital of Australia, however, were surprised by the breadth of experiences on offer. There was particular interest in self-drive itineraries and the ease of including Canberra within itineraries that visit Sydney and Melbourne, with a number of agents already requesting self-famil opportunities through the VisitCanberra team.

Following the event, VisitCanberra hosted 11 agents from Singapore and Malaysia on a famil, which further boosted their enthusiasm for promoting Canberra by experiencing our cultural attractions, eclectic food scene and the abundance of Australian wildlife in our surrounding bushland.
