Planning for the VisitCanberra marketing activation sites in Sydney and Melbourne is underway, and we’re now seeking a range of Canberra’s diverse products and experiences to include in the promotion.
What is the idea?
Designed to increase awareness and consideration of Canberra as a tourism destination, vending machines will be set up in areas of high foot traffic. They’ll contain Canberra branded cans that will offer visitors to the sites a gift from Canberra. They’ll showcase a diverse range of activities and attractions available in our city. To help create excitement and ensure we’re able to capture useful data, there will be Canberra promotional staff manning the sites and ensuring delivery of key messages. The activity will also be supported through a significant media campaign.
What is the opportunity to get involved?
We’re offering our industry the chance to get your product or service literally into the hands of consumers through contributing experiences, tickets or vouchers, offers and discounts. Set to be the largest activation since the launch of our marketing platform One Good Thing After Another, this will help us show off the range of what Canberra has to offer as a tourism destination and create some real buzz.
What will success look like?
Success comes from the awareness we’ll raise – the weekends away to redeem prizes are a bonus. For this reason, VisitCanberra will offer all industry partners reimbursement when gifts are redeemed by winners. Details on how this can be managed, through promo codes or other means, will be agreed with all involved prior to the campaign commencing. If you would like to support the activation by offering free of charge prizes these would of course also be very much appreciated!

Please include the details of how you’d like to be involved, for example, your experience/product and the total number to be contributed. No contribution is too little or too large, we’re keen to showcase as much of our destination as possible, and we’ll be able to answer any questions you may have when you get in touch.
What are our timeframes?
They’re quick! We need to have all Canberra gifts confirmed by Friday 9 March to ensure we’re on track to be live by the end of May. There’s lots of work to be done in the middle!
