POSTED February 27, 2019
CATEGORIES Events, Media,

TravMedia’s seventh International Media Marketplace (IMM) took over the Australian Technology Park in Sydney on 22 February, 2019. Despite its name, the event gives tourism providers an opportunity to engage in one-on-one appointments and networking opportunities with domestic media outlets.

Two representatives from the VisitCanberra media and PR team attended the event and had 22 scheduled 15 minute appointments with leading editors, journalists, freelancers, and digital influencers. In these one-on-one appointments VisitCanberra was able to brief leading travel and food media on news hooks and feature angles for the Canberra region in 2019.

Media outlets included; Nine (Fairfax) Traveller, Australian Woman’s Weekly, Bound Round, Holidays With Kids, Virgin Voguer, TigerTales, Qantas Insider, On The Road, Signature Luxury Travel & Lifestyle, Vacations and Travel.

It was great to see a few familiar faces, with representatives from Jamala Wildlife Lodge attending the event as well.

Next on the calendar is the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) annual Media Marketplace in April. This event will see VisitCanberra representatives briefing key international media publications on angles and news hooks for Canberra in 2019 and beyond.
