  • VisitCanberra continues to showcase our capital globally

VisitCanberra has recently partnered with Travel Tours (FCM Travel Solutions India), one of India’s leading travel agencies, on a cooperative marketing campaign to increase awareness of Canberra as a leisure destination among outbound tourists from India. This partnership is run in conjunction with Singapore Airlines with the ultimate goal of selling an increased number of packaged itineraries to Canberra on SQ288.

The cooperative marketing campaign commenced in May with the development of three new packaged itineraries, all designed around SQ connections. Travellers from this market like to experience more than one city in their Australian journey and as such all itineraries can be booked as add-ons to other packages available through Travel Tours.

Significant print and digital advertising supported the itineraries, with distribution across India’s leading travel magazine Outlook Traveller’s June edition. Travel Tours also supported the campaign with in-kind support through their customer base of over one million subscribers through eDM and SMS pushes.

Canberra continues to see substantial growth from the India market and cooperative marketing partnerships with trade partners like Travel Tours remains a priority. The latest International Visitor Survey (year ending December 2018) showed arrivals from India grew by 24.9 per cent on the previous year. A snapshot of the latest survey results can be found here.
